BETTER FINANCE’s call for Collective Redress Mechanisms covered in the press

Earlier this year BETTER FINANCE called on policy makers to put an end to financial abuses by ensuring better public enforcement of conduct of business rules and introducing an EU-wide framework for Collective Redress in order to facilitate effective private enforcement. Now the European Commissioner for Justice and Consumer Affairs is calling for an EU-wide Collective Redress framework.

Agence Europe, in its article ‘Better Finance calls for collective redress system for consumers of financial products’ (Bulletin Quotidien Europe n. 11889 - 24/10/2017), reiterates the Federation’s request for the European Commission establish a system to facilitate collective redress (or, class-actions) for financial services users and investors that would allow for them to obtain redress for damages incurred from professionals in the industry.
